Our Story

In May of 1989 De Scott founded Simply Northwest as a home-based gift basket service with the purpose of helping corporations find ways to acknowledge and show appreciation for their customers and employees.  As the business outgrew the confines of her home location she moved the business to a warehouse near the Spokane Industrial Park and a few key employees were added to meet the demands of its expanding clientele.

Building on the philosophy of exceeding clients’ expectations the business again outgrew its quarters and, in 1994, Simply Northwest moved to its current location in Spokane Valley and opened a retail shop.  The company has continued to grow as it excels in anticipating the needs and exceeding the expectations of both its retail customers and corporate clients.

On January 1, 2011, De Scott sold Simply Northwest to her long time Retail Manager, Denielle Waltermire. Denielle, a Spokane Valley native and an entrepreneur with many local business connections, continues to provide the exceptional customer service and carries on the incredible reputation that Simply Northwest has established.

As a professional gift service specializing in unique and custom gift baskets, Northwest specialty food and wines and locally handcrafted items made by unbelievable craftsmen, Simply Northwest is pleased to offer Made in the USA products from local and regional vendors here and across the country.  As the new owner, Denielle has added several new products to expand and showcase all that Simply Northwest has to offer.

Simply Northwest is also know for creating elegant, tasteful and customized gifts for companies and individuals by combining the right items that send the right message from the giver to the receiver. 

Giving back to the community that supports this thriving business remains an important focus for the Simply Northwest Team.  Simply Northwest supports many local women and children’s charities and works in partnership with the Children’s Home Society of Washington.
