The Story of Us
Simply Northwest was founded in May of 1989 as a home-based gift basket service with the purpose of helping companies acknowledge and show appreciation for their employees and clients for a variety of occasions. The business grew quickly and soon required a warehouse space for storage and assembly. As demand rose from non-corporate clientele, opening a gift boutique in 1994 at the current location in Spokane Valley, WA was a natural next step.
In 2011, after five years as the previous owner’s retail manager, Denielle Waltermire-Stuhlmiller purchased Simply Northwest, excited to carry on the long-standing tradition of personalized service and attention to detail. Denielle and her team take the time to get to know you; when you request that they create something special for your clients, friends, or family, you can trust that every gift feels like it came directly from you. Simply Northwest’s mission is to make gift giving easy!
With convenient hours and a full-service website for online orders, with local delivery and shipping options, you simply cannot find a better way to give unique gifts. Simply Northwest also offers printed and etched promotional items for your business or event; convention and event execution services; and in-home décor consultations.
Involvement in our community is always important to Simply Northwest. Not only do we strive to showcase local goods and artists, we also give back by supporting organizations with auction donations.
Simply Northwest has continued to evolve in the last few years with fresh new branding, exterior updates and a new website. With a wonderful history and a long list of incredible clients established, the new look has surely infused energy into the business and attracted new customers. The Simply Northwest Team
Denielle, Simply Northwest owner and gift designer, didn’t plan to become a shop owner and entrepreneur. After graduating from college with a business degree, she worked in retail for a while but burned out on the schedule and corporate constraints on creativity. She briefly returned to school at Eastern Washington University earning her bachlors degree in Social Work, and then took on part-time work at Simply Northwest. Suddenly, she found herself engaged with retail in a new and exciting way. Able to spread her creative wings by merchandising the store in a personal way, the time at Simply Northwest flew by. When the opportunity arose to purchase the business five years later, she took a deep breath and signed on the dotted line!
Janet is the exceptional retail sales associate you will likely meet when you visit Simply Northwest. Janet greets with a friendly smile and has a passion for providing excellent customer service. Her customers quickly become her friends and return time and time again.
Samantha is our talented Production Manager and works closely with Denielle to ensure every customer and order receives great care and attention to detail. Her organization skills and positive attitude help make Simply Northwest shine!
Becky is our lead part-time Gift Basket designer. Becky has a talent for assembling gorgeous gifts and baskets and ensures that every order is completed with perfection.
Nancy is a long-time employee who works part-time and helps in a number of capacities. She is dedicated to providing our customers with personal and friendly service.
Colleen is the baker behind our famous soft peanut brittle and newly acquired Grandma Rubbin's Peppernuts Cookies. Our delicious soft peanut brittle is a yummy addition to any gift and a favorite with our customers. And our gingersnap like cookies are an absolute must try!
DeeDee is the Bookkeeper and a “wizard” with numbers. Her work may be behind the scenes, but we couldn’t do what we do without her.
